Political City Madurai gears up for Durai Dayanidhi's B'Day

Though Madurai Corporation has banned posters within the city limits, the ruling party men undeterred by this ban have started painting the town red to celebrate the birthday of Durai Dayanidhi, son of Union Minister M K Alagiri.

DMK cadre especially in Madurai are known for going overboard in organising party functions and this time they are all set to have a gala birthday bash for ‘Madurai Ilavarasare’ on September 27.

The muse inherent in the cadre has again unleashed its artistic potential with banners and flex boards again marring the city landscape.

The activists now seem to be more vigilant in choosing crowning titles for his son.

Most banners address him as Madurayin Ilavarasane, Thenmandala Ilavarasane, Annanin Magane, Annanin Punniyame, Vallale, Pugazhe.

All the leading advertisement agencies here were busy in designing attractive and innovative banners.

One of the innovate posters is that of a redesigned Rs 1,000 note with picture of Alagiri on the left and of Durai Dayanidhi on the right.
